After launching the application, a wizard guides new users through the program. You select the drive in question and RS FAT Recovery begins the search progress.

For recently deleted files, you can use the Quick Scan feature. Formatted, re-partitioned or unreadable disks are appropriately analyzed.

All results are displayed in the RS FAT Recovery main window. To the right of the results is a window for previewing the disk image. On the left side, the folder structure, similar to the one in Windows Explorer, is displayed.

From the results, the user selects the files or folders to restore. While scanning larger disks, select the files to be restored from the recovery list: RS FAT Recovery can handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Individual files can be found using a search window. Signatures, date or size of the file can help in complicated cases. There's an integrated hex editor for use by more knowledgeable users to determine the beginning and end of a file, if necessary.

To restore a disk, click the image file located on the drive.

All features of RS FAT Recovery are clearly arranged in the user interface. The program guides the user through the process without unnecessary questions.

Good results

The RS FAT Recovery user interface is well designed. The program was able to find all deleted files in our test and correctly restore almost all of them. Some image files, however, were incorrect after the restore was complete.

RS FAT Recovery works only with disks that have been formatted in FAT or FAT 32 file format. Compared to similar programs, RS FAT Recovery performs at about the same speed.

The demo version has all the features of the full version, but does not restore the deleted data. For the restore feature, the user has to sign up for the paid version.
